Why adopt a senior dog from SDRO?

SDRO Alumni: Odie

If you are looking for a furry companion to spend your days with but prefer a quieter lifestyle, look no further than adopting a senior dog!

Senior dogs are usually more relaxed and less energetic than puppies, making them great companions for those with a more laid-back lifestyle. Plus, their temperament is well-established, so you know what to expect, and they're less likely to cause damage to your home since they've typically outgrown the destructive puppy stage.

Adopting a senior dog gives a deserving animal a new chance at a happy and fulfilling life. These dogs are often overlooked and unwanted. Senior dogs deeply appreciate the love and care they receive, especially if they've experienced hardship or neglect. You'll gain a loyal companion who will be forever grateful for the love you provide.

Taking time to find the perfect match.

At SDRO, we want to make sure you find the perfect match. That's why our dogs live with a foster family until they are adopted. When you're ready to adopt, you will have a conversation with an adoption coordinator about your dog and a two-week trial adoption period in your home to ensure it's the right fit. If it's not, no worries - the dog will return to us, and we'll keep searching for the perfect match. We take pride in making sure that every dog finds their forever home with just the right family.
